Job Summary:

The Director of Engineering oversees & leads all Engineering & Maintenance functions at the Epic Pharma main facility located in Laurelton, Queens, NY and our Westbury, Long Island Warehouse.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing, developing, assigning, mentoring and training Engineering Department management as they complete tasks and projects to ensure quality guidelines are followed & plant operations are fully supported.
  • Generate & present CAPEX expenditures for the facility, and departmental budgets.
  • Ensuring all department associated SOP’s are up to date & followed
  • Drafting equipment qualification protocols & support documentation using company approved programs
  • Collaborating with all departments to provide support & remediation solutions
  • Work with Quality unit to remediate deviations & support investigations as they apply to production & packaging equipment & facility functions
  • Coordinate & oversee large scale product, packaging & support equipment removal & installations
  • Ensuring appropriate applications, permits, data reports, records & other documentation are collected, prepared, submitted, maintained as required by State & Federal governing agencies (FDNY, DEC, DEP, NYCDOB)
  • Review and approve department purchases
  • Coordinating payments to contractors & vendors for services rendered
  • Other tasks as assigned by Department Head

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Advance level technical writing skills, excellent details orientation skills, advance level skills with drawing software (ACAD, Visio).
  • Must be well versed in trouble shooting & maintaining production, packaging & facility support equipment, in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (GMP, aseptic, clean room design).
  • Facility, utility & equipment engineering (HVAC, water systems, automation).
  • Validation & Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Problem solving & decision making skills under pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal technical reporting skills in English.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum 12 years experience in Manufacturing Environment – pharmaceuticals a plus.
